Devotional texts and lay piety in the fourteenth to fifteenth centuries Middle Ages, devotional literature, devotionalism, manuscript study, early books, This study aims to discuss the relationships between late medieval devotional texts and lay piety through considering some representative devotional texts in relation to material characteristics of the devotional manuscripts that contain such texts. It will be important to discuss the issue in the cultural backgrounds of late medieval Europe. 2012/04-2015/03

Biblical additions in Caxton's _Golden Legend_ fifteenth century, bible translation, Caxton, Golden Legend This project aims to discuss sources of Caxton's Old Testament translation integrated in his _Golden Legend_, and the reception of English biblical translations in general. As part of study of late medieval religious climate in England, I have been studying this manuscript in detail and have published editions of several important texts in it. 1994/03-Present

Editing, the Historye of the Patriarks (Cambridge, St. John's College, MS G.31) 15th century, Bible, translation, Middle English, Genesis, Historia scholastica, Bible historiale, Peter Comestor, Guyart Desmoulins Cambridge, St John's College MS G.31 contains the only witness to the Middle English _Historye of the Patriarks_, which is a conflated translation of the _Historia scholastica_, _Bible historiale_ and the Genesis. I have edited the HP in parallel with the three source texts. 2003/10-2009/11
